I Probably Need A Hug But...
...instead I'm going shopping. Everything in my cart for Spring/Summer.
I could never live somewhere without seasons—I rely too heavily on the shifts in weather to guide me into a new mental state, especially so in the Winter and Summer. By the time the long four months of one season are over, I’m itching for the next. Each season beckons a new way of life, acts as a creative punch-in-the-arm, and comes with a closet full of forgotten pieces, striking a match and igniting a kind of stylistic rebirth. Who will I be this Spring/Summer? And what am I adding to my wardrobe to get me there?
The in-between seasons are when all the fun happens from a styling standpoint. Anything goes. Opposite ends of your wardrobe collide in odd combinations and contradictory matchups- delicate sheers meet chunky knits, winter boots meet mini skirts, trenches find micro shorts- the least something seems to work, the more sense it makes.
On that note, here’s what I’m eyeing for the warmer weather:
THE TOP SHOP

I’ve been hunting for a jersey to add that sporty edge to my closet. I loved this embroidered number from The Falls at the Manhattan Vintage Show. I heard they also carry the brand at Printemps but didn’t see it last weekend during the opening. While we’re talking Printemps- I owe you a follow-up from last week- was anyone else wondering where the new and exciting merch was? No detail was spared when it came to decor + display, but why kit out dressing rooms so extensively if you’re not going equip the customer with the chicest of products to match? I’m holding out hope that this was an opening weekend faux pas because I’m a sucker for aesthetics, champ, and a good shop. Fingers crossed..

Back to jerseys, I stopped at Kith recently, whose assortment isn’t usually up my alley, but I left happily surprised with a few items added to my wishlist. This burgundy Wales Bonner Jersey was perfect. For something sporty, this long-sleeve knit jersey has my attention. This Alexander Wang double polo, in both the halter and the tradition style left me wanting to double up every item in my closet. Get the double look for less by layering this and this.

These Tibi polos feel essential and I’m confident they will be mine sooner or later.
Into the short-sleeve over long-sleeve situation too. See here; easily replicable with items in your closet. Think a cool graphic T over a button-down, or get it all in one.
For Spring, I’m eyeing this Uniqlo windbreaker. I’m envisioning it with a wildly embellished tweed miniskirt by AREA (who is currently doing their F&F sale.) Hot Tip #1: GU x Rokh collab comes out today, and they have a transformable cropped trench that turns into a cape on the linesheet. This foldable Parka is giving Longchamp, and I must say I like the packability. (Also, did you guys see the personalization they have going on at Longchamp these days? I might need to get my travel bag done….since we’re on the topic, if you’re not packing this bag in your suitcase when you travel, what are you doing???)
Anti-capsule button-down, but make it summer: see here. Shout out to Becca Jarret for contributing this add to my ever-growing wishlist. Sigh.
Pantless fit, but make it summer: see here. I love a rugby, what can I say. The dress version is also great for an easy summer throw-on that is also office-appropriate.
Some quick hits from my cart: here, here (the matching set is so good), here, here, and here.
THE BOTTOM SHOP
Denim first. I have a love-hate relationship with Jorts (jean shorts) and got a tip on these Coperni Bermudas, the fit is perfect. ( FYI, my shorts are getting longer by the day.) I also ordered these from Jean Paul Gaultier, and the subtle flair and quirky buttons do it for me. Those two will cover me for the summer.
I’m not a white denim girl (I can’t unsee the skinny white jeans, cork wedge, and silk cami from my childhood), but if you are, this Dries pair made me stop my scroll. And I’m still thinking about them. So, never say never. My closet does not need another pair of jeans, BUT IF I WAS GOING TO BUY A PAIR, IT WOULD BE THESE!!! (Help, I want them.)

I’ll be the proud owner of these Tibi Pants once I figure out how to kidnap them from my Mom’s closet. If you’re looking for a “summer uniform” pant, look no further.
Since we’re talking Tibi, this skirt can be worn three different ways and can also shift a pair of white jeans (or anything with belt loops) into a skant. You’re welcome.
After a long hunt for a colored pair of Adidas Sweatpants to wear with frilly little prairie tops, wild button-downs, kitten heels, and bedazzled mary janes (really anything but the obvious styling choice), I landed on these from a Wales Bonner collab and am ready to start outfitting them. These and these are also good, but you’d have to remove the drawstring on that last pair (does anyone else generally despise a drawstring?) If anyone comes across these during their scroll, let a girl know!!

I live in my Prada Nylons (I like that logo), so if you don’t have a pair in your closet, let me entice you with the wardrobing possibilities: with heels in the summer, over your bathingsuit for the beach, a neighborhood run, a coffee shop stop- you get the idea. They do all the things. Look on Vestiaire Collective, TRR, and eBay for a discounted selection- do NOT pay over $300 for these, and remember that the price listed on VC is suggested- negotiate! In place of Pradas, I’m eyeing lace-trimmed Adidas, bandana boxers, Casablanca basketball shorts (shoutout @jespressobean for the rec; her summer style is the elite), and a terry number (my summer coverup closet heavily consists of La Veste- did you see their collab with Rowing Blazers? Look at this Rugby!)
This Charles Jeffery Loverboy Skirt is on its way to me and I’m hoping the risk of final sale works in my favor.
Lastly, for the lazy lounge moment, I think it’s time I get a pair of these.
Quick hits from my cart: here (to wear right now), here, here (kind of like those ones I tried on at Manhattan Vintage), and here (that H&M set is wildly similar to this one, right?)
THE SHOE SHOP
I resisted the mesh/jelly trend for as long as possible but even I am not immune to the inundation I’m seeing on socials. I’m wear testing these from Steve Madden and will report back, but am also eyeing these. For a more approachable foray into the jelly world, try these.
As far as mesh, these have been haunting me. I like how far the mesh comes up the foot. In general, I’m hesitant to wear anything this open-toed on the city streets, but what can ya do.

More on flops: here, here, and here (I got them mid-winter at a steal and own the matching swimsuit- they’re good!)
Hybrids that have my attention: here, here, here, and here. Am I crazy for liking the sneakerish Mary Janes and wonky lace-up ballet flats? I kind of love them.. I think… Are these going too far? I saw them in Saks recently and was intrigued.
These Marni bow flats run TTS, and these classics will be my go-to (laces will be changed on both). I did some damage at the Sunnei sample sale shopping next gen vans + converse styles (Going until Sunday, so I might be back) ((prob will do a little haul on TT if you’re curious, feel free to comment if I’ve lost my mind with these purchases, because I may have)).
Into these crazy Moccasins as well.
These Amina Muaddis are the first pair of wedges I’ve liked in years.
THE ACCESSORY SHOP
On the bag note: Still thinking about her, and my crush on Coach continues (I can’t believe I missed this drop). (Coach eyewear also intrigues me, but I’m not seeing the ones I like from the runway on the site.) Isn’t this funky?

Did you see my new L.L.Bean (Loewe) Boat Tote? I wish I could take credit for this embroidery. Nevertheless, I’m obsessed.
Top of my wishlist is a very specific LV speedy w Eva Join embroidery. I’m sure I’ll Vlog the entire process if I decide to get the bag.
Ever on the hunt for a chic bag that fits my laptop, I discovered this two-toned beauty from Dooz. Hot Tip #2: The pouch inside unclips and can be worn as a clutch on its own- 2 for 1!
I’d like lucite bangles up my arm and some good silver/gold earcuffs stacked high.
Is this necklace too much? Sad I missed out on the “Marry Me” earrings but still love this ring. And if you’re shopping that AREA sale I mentioned, may I suggest these.
Received this Dorsey necklace this morning. Diamond delivery on a Friday?? Someone pinch me! It’s effortlessly cool, dainty but still substantial.
LAST LINKS
The Sweat Dress: Coperni is the blueprint, but I like this from ShuShu/Tong too.
Post Beach Wares: Everything about this sweatshirt, from the color to the double neckline, is cool. This cardigan is oversized and so yummy. I already got a Terry Poncho for summer, but this Sunnei option stopped my scroll (wear with these because you know I love men’s swimshorts).

My favorite Magda Butrym cover-up is on the TRR at a great price.
I’m making this crochet caftan from La Vie Style House my entire personality this summer.
If you have a special occasion this summer, look at this dress (spotted on
). And this backless party top is perfect for a birthday moment.SELFISH DELIGHTS: Little Luxuries That Make Every Day Sweeter
I was gifted this Loewe Hand Cream on my birthday, and lather my hands in it every night before bed. Not only does it look amazing on my bedside table, but it smells divine. So much so that I put a little under my nose so I can smell it as I fall asleep. One of the best gifts I’ve ever received, and one that I will unfortunately have to rebuy for myself when I run out.
It took me too long to try this bedding. I have both the signature sheet set and the hemmed duvet set and I’m having trouble getting out of bed in the morning. Hot Tip #3: The entire site is 20% off right now!
I’ve tried every product from OUB at this point and I BEG you not to get the chapstick. It’s cute as hell but a genuinely horrible product (I have 3; don’t ask why.) Instead, let me point you in the dental care direction. The toothbrush is the best I’ve ever owned and the stripes make me so happy morning and night. (This hand cream WITH the special cap stand and a customized comb are also worth the buy). Hot Tip #3: The customized comb makes for a fantastic gift.
Nothing is more luxe than a fluffy hotel towel or robe at the ready. No one does it better than Weezie. Hot Tip #4: High School Grads heading to college would love a monogrammed robe + towel set as a grad gift! Hell, I would love that.
As a born and bred Mason Pearson girlie, I can genuinely say the Bonne Brasse brushes are worth the hype. I find that the specific nylon + boar bristle combo I linked is better than the Mason Pearson equivalent for detangling (I think because the nylon bristles are longer in the LBB). I still use my Mason Pearson (all boar bristle) brush often, but I find myself reaching for the LBB more these days. As aforementioned, I’m a sucker for aesthetics so subconsciously maybe that’s it. Regardless, both are phenomenal.
On the agenda 4.11: I’m thinking an Interiors Edit or NYC day guide. Thoughts?

As always,
If you’re not going to be nice, at least be funny,
Maggie.
coach large kisslock restocking in july!
I interned at Tibi last summer and can vouch for the pants & the convertible pleated skirt. (have you seen the mini?!) I need it all!!
